Service Details

We will:

• allow your academy to place adverts free of charge on the County Council website
• offer your academy access to primary trained newly qualified teachers (NQTs) recruited through our annual primary pool exercise
• support and advise your school if it is challenged over any recruitment activity
• give guidance and advice on recruitment and selection, retention and equalities issues to enable you to meet the development needs of your academy in relation to local and national teaching and learning policies and strategies
• advise on all aspects of safer recruitment and the administration of employment references
• advise on job descriptions and person specifications
• promote teaching in East Sussex via a range of mediums
• interpret legislation affecting recruitment issues, such as the School Staffing Regulations 2009, Equality Act 2010, the Academies Act 2010, the Agency Worker Regulations 2011 and the Education Act 2011.

Further Services

Getting The Most From Your Service

What Your School Needs To Do

You are responsible for recruiting both the appropriate number and quality of staff. Your main responsibilities are set out in Schedule 16 of the School Standards and Framework Act, together with the School Staffing regulations 2009.

Quality Assurance

We have quality assurance processes in place to ensure that our work practices are effective, that professional standards are being met and that we provide a high quality service to schools and academies.

We also have a number of key performance indicators and constantly monitor our service against these to make sure it remains at the required standard and provides you with value for money.

We are always looking for ways we can improve our service. We work with all our staff to ensure that they are appropriately trained and qualified and that we meet their continuing professional development needs.

If your academy is purchasing one or more Personnel and Training services only - you will have access to all Personnel and Training content on Czone but no Health and Safety content.

If your academy is purchasing the Health and Safety advisory service only - you will have access to all Health and Safety content on Czone but no Personnel and Training content.

If your academy is not purchasing any Personnel and Training or Health and Safety services - you will have no access to the content on Czone relating to these areas.

The access permissions for your academy will be assigned each year based on your purchasing decisions and these will be reviewed annually.
