        Testimonials

The E-Learning Service has proven an invaluable tool in supporting some of our most vulnerable students. E-Learning has given the school the flexibility to personalise our student’s education, which in turn has enabled us to improve their engagement and attendance at school. In particular, students with long-term medical issues have been able to continue their education without falling behind with their learning, which they previously may have done.

Our highly skilled e-learning teachers who deliver live lessons to students over the internet. Students and teachers interact in a virtual real-time classroom. They can speak to each other and get resources for the lesson via a shared whiteboard.

Students can access this virtual classroom from any location, such as their home, a teaching centre, a library or their school.

We provide a full timetable of lessons covering the core subjects – English, maths and science – and additional subjects such as history, geography and religious education. An individual timetable is set up for each student based upon their specific needs.

        Our service also offers:

        • individual packages for students on personalised learning programmes
        • curriculum delivery to students within learning support units
        • additional resources to students for catch-up or extension programmes
        • support for gaining accreditations for students working below level 2.

E-learning is successful in engaging students in learning outside the classroom because:

        • it can take place in an environment where the student feels ‘safe’
        • accessing lessons on a computer can be highly motivating
        • communicating with the teacher/peers in an e-learning lesson may be easier than it is face-to-face
        • class groups are generally small
        • students remain anonymous
        • the impact of challenging behaviour is minimised.
